OUR MISSION & HISTORY
Connecting Stories is a women-led Community Interest Company where lived experience powers progress. Our mission is to bridge the financial literacy and access gap for women by creating trusted spaces and structured programmes that turn confidence into capability. Since 2018, we’ve supported over 6,500 women through financial literacy workshops, mentoring and community programmes, creating lasting impact across households and communities. We amplify real stories, mentor and mobilise communities, and partner with organisations to deliver measurable outcomes to help build a more resilient and equitable society where intergenerational impact exists.
What We Do
We accelerate social mobility for marginalised women and girls through three connected pillars:
People
We build safe, collaborative communities grounded in empathy and trust. Every woman’s story is seen, heard and woven into our shared learning experience to build confidence and agency.
Markets
We champion equity across financial education, products and services by expanding access to clear information, fair opportunities and ethical partners. We help shape markets that work for women by creating transparent pathways to wealth creation.
World
We see a world where the financial futures of women are changing history. When women are financially empowered, the workplaces we share, the communities we live in and the spaces we occupy prosper.
How We Scale Impact
Strategic alliances with companies, charities and universities amplify our reach. Their volunteers help us run local and global programmes that reach the women and girls who need them most.

STRATEGIC ALLIANCES
A Transformative Partnership with the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority)
We partnered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to create a transformative financial empowerment event for employees of the FCA and women from the Connecting Stories community. We also had in attendance representatives from the Bank of England, Financial Ombudsman, Barclays Bank etc
A Year of Empowerment in Partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund
We entered a partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) to run a 12-month financial empowerment/mentorship programme for underserved communities to help them reach their financial and career development goals.
Career Bootcamp with the Financial Ombudsman: Opening Doors for Women
We partnered with the Financial Ombudsman to host a Career Bootcamp for underserved women, providing tools, access, and connections with reputable organisations. Attendees will engage with hiring managers and industry leaders, opening doors and breaking barriers.
