Problem / Challenge
Many women face systemic barriers when it comes to achieving financial independence — from limited access to tailored financial education to societal expectations that discourage open conversations about money. As the world celebrated International Women’s Day, it became clear that financial empowerment is not just a personal goal but a collective necessity. There was a growing need to bridge the knowledge gap and create a supportive space for women to learn, share, and act confidently about their finances.
What We Did
Connecting Stories, in partnership with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and with generous sponsorship from Reckitt, organised an empowering in-person event that brought women together to celebrate International Women’s Day through the lens of financial literacy and action.
The event featured interactive workshops, panel discussions with finance experts, and networking sessions that encouraged peer learning and accountability. Topics ranged from saving and investing to long-term financial planning and community giving.
The event recorded 78 registered attendees, with over 80% committing to taking tangible steps towards financial independence — demonstrating a remarkable shift in mindset and collective motivation to create lasting impact
Knowledge is power in financial empowerment, the power in community. If you don’t respect money, it won’t respect you. Save, invest, give - pay it forward
