Many women experience self-doubt and impostor syndrome when navigating their careers – often underestimating their value, voice, and visibility in professional spaces. While talent and skill abound, confidence and access to mentorship opportunities remain significant barriers to advancement. Connecting Stories identified the need for a safe, empowering space for women to learn how to recognise their worth, build influence, and confidently take up space in their professional journeys.
What We Did
To address these challenges, we hosted a virtual event titled How To Step Into Your Power — a dynamic session designed to help women embrace authenticity, overcome self-limiting beliefs, and take strategic action in their careers.
The session featured inspiring speakers from Morgan Stanley, Visa and the FCA who shared real-world experiences and practical insights on identifying mentors, seeking sponsorship, and saying yes to stretch opportunities that drive visibility and growth. Participants engaged in open conversations about navigating workplace dynamics, building confidence, and defining success on their own terms.
The event attracted 97 registered attendees, with over 80% reporting a significant boost in confidence and clarity about their next career steps.
The event was both powerful and refreshing. What I appreciated most was how their insights weren’t just motivational but also practical. The speakers shared advice on navigating the workplace — from overcoming impostor syndrome to owning your authenticity. Honest, relatable and empowering! Thank you for such a valuable session.
